In an attempt to clear his name, Onyinye Franklin Onuigbo, popularly known as Hero, inadvertently confirmed previous reports published by Umuaka News24, stating that his dealings with the 13-year-old minor were a “mutual” and “casual friend” relationship, while denying allegations of rape.
There are also unconfirmed allegations circulating around Umuaka that Hero allegedly used money to settle the family of the minor and influence his release from police custody over his alleged involvement in the sacrilegious act.
We wish to also reiterate that the Isiozi Youth leader who chatted to Umuaka News24 was Mr Echesirim Chibuike and not the General Youth leader Mr Onyebuchi Ohanekwu.
Umuaka News24 calls for a deeper and transparent investigation into the matter, stressing that justice must not be compromised by financial influence or social status.
