Eze Francis Ahanotu of Amiyi has provided explanation about the extent of his involvement regarding a land dispute that was brought to his palace for settlement.
In a long voice message made available to Umuaka News24, Iyi acknowledged that a case of land dispute was brought to his palace for resolution and he constituted a committee to look into the matter and make determination.
Iyi narrated that while the committee was still handling the issue, a land for sale was brought to him by a “land agent” from Amiyi and he recommended it to a buyer from Isiozi.
At the time the transaction was finalised, he Iyi did not know that the land was the same that was reported to his council.
After discovering that the land he facilitated its sale was the same land that is subject to dispute and reported to his palace, he himself immediately raised alarm and initiated the termination of the sale.
His Majesty affirmed that he clearly understood the gravity of the situation and did everything to reverse the transaction, including spending his own money to pacify the buyer who requested interest for the refund of payment.
According to Eze, the land in question belongs to Ngozi Nsoha and not Michael Ihentuge.
He stated that the land has been reverted to its original owner, Ngozi Nsoha, and the erroneous sale was since reversed.
His Majesty said that it’s unfortunate how Michael Ihentuge is spreading falsehood and muddling facts just to tarnish the image of the palace. He promised to make official press release over the matter and set the record straight.
