Popular social media influencer Okwuluora has continued to raise funds for Chinecherem from Umuaka, who is currently receiving treatment at Zenith Kidney Centre, Abuja, despite his recent misunderstanding with some people of Umuaka.
During his visit, Okwuruora spoke with Chinecherem and also met Toviah Anyanwu from Umuaka, whom he previously helped raise funds for her successful kidney transplant. Toviah was ready to return home but lacked transportation. Okwuluora immediately raised funds to facilitate her trip back to Umuaka.
His actions drew praise from many of his followers. Afterward, he attended a function where he met our own son of the soil, ex-footballer Emmanuel Emenike, alongside other prominent personalities.
However, Okwuluora later made a cryptic post on social media, writing:
“I have dedicated my life for others to live better & I clearly understand the hate & frustration that comes when you take such route! I can assure you that any day I change my colour will be my last day! This life is not even sweet 🫂”
The post sparked mixed reactions, with some Umuaka commenters urging him to redeem himself in the right way.
One comment read:
“Okwuluora is a good person, but regarding his saga in Umuaka, he lied and must correct his mistakes before it damages his wonderful reputation in Igboland. From available facts, he exaggerated his encounter to gain sympathy and raise personal funds. In that haste, he made derogatory statements, labelled the entire town evil, and cursed us. There’s still time to make things right, Okwuruora.”
Some community members believe he may have acted under trauma and shock at the time, but now that he has a cool head, they say he should correct his words to protect his reputation — or risk the issue haunting him for a long time. At this stage a simple Apology message post to ndi Umuaka for generalising his words would be enough to correct the impression.
