- Okwuluora, from all indication was intercepted within the wider Umuaka by a group active in a place not far from Umuaka.
- Okwuluora was apparently accosted by the group because of his vehicle type which was a Tacoma pick up truck full of four men asking random people questions for directions, according to Okwuluora himself, and news of the presence of suspicious men in town may have circulated quickly.
- The place Okwuluora and his men were taken to after the ambush which he described as a camp is not in Umuaka.
- There is no military checkpoint anywhere around Umuaka or even Njaba Local Government.
- The expressway that Okwuluora mentioned appears to be Owerri-Onitsha road around Ukwuorji area, which is not in Umuaka.
- Umuaka is not a ghost town and the deserted community that Okwuluora was describing appears to be Ezioha which is in MBAITOLU local government, Owerri Zone.
- The group that took Okwuluora released him unharmed and returned all his belongings after establishing his mission. This suggests that they did not set out to kidnap him and his men but probably wanted to ascertain their identity and mission.
- Umuaka has security issues like most towns in Nigeria but doesn’t have a problem of kidnapping. In fact you’re more likely to be kidnapped in Enugu than in Umuaka, according to every available statistics.
