community leaders are calling for the apprehension of Awuzie Darlington, who is accused of recording and circulating nude images of an individual identified as Amarachi from Ugbele Umuaka on social media, in a serious breach of trust and privacy.According to Umuaka News24 findings, Darlington has repeatedly attempted to post the offending content on the Umuaka Peoples Assembly Facebook group, which boasts over 37,000 members. Group administrators have been swift in deleting these posts and blocking their approval and taking decisive action to curb the spread of harmful material.“We cannot condone this betrayal of trust in our community,” said a spokesperson for Umuaka News24. “Such actions violate not only our values but also the law and we urge Community leaders to act swiftly to hold the perpetrator accountable.”The alleged act of sharing non-consensual intimate images is a serious offense under Nigeria’s Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Act, 2015, which criminalizes cyberstalking and the dissemination of offensive content. Offenders could face up to seven years in prison or substantial fines.The Umuaka community known for its rich cultural heritage and close-knit bonds has expressed outrage over the incident.
