Famous Sir Hippo, a renowned disciplinary figure at St. Saviour’s Secondary School, has shared his thoughts on his legacy, stating that people tend to remember him only for his strict disciplinary methods, particularly flogging, while overlooking the knowledge and impact he had on his students.

St. Saviour’s Secondary School has a long-standing reputation for discipline, which was shaped by teachers like Sir, Alagwu, Sir Hippo, Sir Livi, Sir Okereke (Otosi), Sir Amaechi (Aba Aba), Sir Duruaku, Sir Eva, among others. These educators played a significant role in molding the characters of many students, helping them become better individuals of today.

However, times have changed, and Umuaka News24 is calling for a shift in disciplinary approaches.

While commending teachers in Umuaka schools for their hard work, we advise exploring alternative measures to avoid untoward incidents in the future, such as the recent controversy surrounding the punishment of a student.

As the education landscape evolves, it’s essential for educators to adapt their methods to prioritize student well-being and safety while maintaining discipline and order in schools.

Let there be peace.
