Reverend Fr. Charles explains that on Tuesday he caught students including Ozioma engaging in examination malpractice. He knelt them down and calmly slapped their cheeks after which Ozioma fainted. He Assumed she was being dramatic he told her that her punishment would await her after the “drama” and left her. She was later taken to the staff room to rest.
Surprisingly he received a call from Ozioma’s parents later that evening informing him that she had been taken to Friendship Hospital.
Reverend Fr. Charles reveals that Ozioma had been sick over the weekend and had previously been brutally flogged by a teacher on Friday morning for violating school regulations. He had condemned the teacher’s actions and promised to investigate.

“The fact is that Ozioma was sick over the weekend. I returned from a one week retreat last week Friday. After school on that Friday, Ozioma, her grandmum and another parent met with me at the office and reported to me the brutal flogging of their daughter by a teacher. I calmed the tension and promised to investigate the matter. Ozioma violated the school regulation on Thursday and went home without proper permission. This was what triggered the flogging by the teacher on Friday morning. I condemned the act of the teacher who took the punishment so far. I told him that he would have waited for my return instead…. Meanwhile, Ozioma sustained a hand fracture due to the flogging.”
He emphasizes that he did not give Ozioma any punishment and believes her fainting was triggered by her unstable health condition and tension from being penalized for malpractice.
Reverend Fr. Charles expresses concern that his character has been defamed and he has faced hate comments for his efforts in forming young people.
