Dr. A. S. Nonso, a concerned old boy of Saint Saviour’s Secondary School also known as Umuaka High School, is seeking answers about the current status of their alma mater.
The old boy is struggling to come to terms with the fact that the school may have relocated to Amiyi or UBA, a move that erases personal memories and connections to the institution.
In a heartfelt post in his set WhatsApp group, the old boy expressed his refusal to accept the school in Amiyi as his alma mater, citing a lack of personal memories and connection to the institution.
He wrote “The question on everyone’s mind is: where exactly is our Alma Mater right now?
Is it the newly built school at Amiyi, named St Saviour’s Secondary School?
Is it at Hilltop UBA named High School Umuaka, or
Is it still the one at Isiozi nicknamed Government Technical College?
Or Do we just Accept that our Alma Mater ceased to exist?
Fellow old boys of St. Saviour’s Secondary School (Umuaka High school),
let’s come together to seek answers and preserve the legacy of our beloved alma mater.
The numerous old boys associations were supposed to be consulted before all these alterations.
WHERE DO WE GATHER IF THERE’S NEED TO COME TOGETHER AS OLD BOYS?
I personally refuse to accept that the one at Amiyi is my Alma mater because I do not have any single memory of it to resonate with.
That my son was named Saviour Junior doesn’t make him to be me”. He concluded
