Following the Publication of Umuaka News24 , the Online News channel for Umuaka peoples Assembly Platforms, Eze Obinwanne has written Umuaka to effect the correction as indicated in the Original document dated 1930 (94yrs old).

The attention of Obinwanne Umuaka has been drawn to a 1934 document from historical archives in Enugu showing the order of seniority of villages in Umuaka. While the people who have introduced this historical document before our public forum purport to use it to demonstrate that Obeapku is senior to Amako, they have ingenously ignored the fact that on the face of the said document, the present day Obinwanne Umuaka, then derogatorily referred to as Umuosuafor is no.6 on the order of seniority in historical document.

The inference here is that Umuaka has done a great disservice and injustice to Obinwanne Umuaka over the years. From the historical document, it is absolutely clear that Obinwanne Umuaka is senior to all the Amazano villages. Document and facts contained in them don’t lie.

What is absolutely shocking is the level of injustice meted out to Obinwanne Umuaka over the years by everyone who should have known better. We had been denied our rightful position in Umuaka over the years due to primordial racism and discrimination.

Based on the said historical document, Obinwanne Umuaka hereby demands that we be recognised as no.6 in order of seniority in old Umuaka. No one should have a problem with that as it is clearly evidenced in the document. Also, note that it wasn’t Obinwanne Umuaka that introduced the said document, but we thank those who did for finally bringing justice to our people.

Finally, EzeNwanne and the entire people of Obinwanne Umuaka will take time off to await the correction of the mistake and mischief intentionally carried out in the distortion of the historical order of seniority in old Umuaka. We demand an immediate correction.

Our further actions and views on any other issue relating to old Umuaka will be shaped by a positive response to our request to correct the historical order of seniority.
